Early Radio and Television

This page is a brief guide to this section of the website, dealing with UK magazine articles on early radio and television, from the period 1925-1940, the politics, economics, technology.

In the mid Sixties, I was passed a bundle of very old radio magazines by radio amateur Ernie Houldsworth, G6NM. As requested I have kept these safe but as I am now ageing - as is the brittle magazine paper- it is time to archive things. This section has a selection of articles which have been collected together by theme and then arranged in date. See the brief comments below and then move on to the themes of your choice

I have no idea if these ancient articles are copyright or who would own it- if anyone wishes to claim content and ask for it to be acknowledged or removed, do please contact me. I can find no indication that anyone else has this material and physically it won't last much longer.

2016: Discovered- a trove of these magazines on the internet! Check out American Radio History for lots of PDFs of Wireless World and many other historical items of value including the BBC yearbooks. Lovely.
